Clandestine chocolate stash

I had to hide the stash of mini chocolate bars.

Backstory: I started buying those little Halloween candies a few months ago to give the kids in their lunch bags. Nut free ones like KitKat, Mars and Aero. I added some others with nuts for treats at home, like Snickers, Oh Henry and Reese cups.

I stored them in these giant plastic mixed-nuts containers from Costco and kept them on the counter next to the toaster.

Well that didn’t work for long because, teenagers. 😳

  • The normal emergency food stash
  • The apocalypse emergency stash
  • The car emergency stash
  • The kids school lunch snack stash
  • The kids own secret candy stash
  • The birdseed/pet kibble/dog treats stash…

Here we go again: back to school, and then there was chocolate

So this morning, they left. Every single one of them! I had an empty house. 😀

Today was the first day of school for Canadian children.

The morning was kind of anti-climatic actually, which is a nice change of pace. Having gone through various forms of stress, anxiety or other associated emotions in the past, I didn’t really know what to expect today. Nice that it went relatively smoothly.
