Rain, milestones and a lost (and found) bikini

Today marks the beginning of a new milestone. Although school doesn’t begin for another week, my highschool boy has his orientation at his new school this morning. He and a friend are taking the bus. πŸ˜€

I wonder if he’ll be in a talkative mood tonight…oh wait, he has hockey tonight. #andsoitbegins

It’s raining here today. It has begun to be a bit cooler in mornings and evenings over the past week or so. I love this time of year. During the day when the sun is out it’s hot and humid, enough to get the fans going or the a/c turned on again but generally, it’s perfect for my liking. Kids still swimming in outdoor pools.

The leaves haven’t begun to turn yet. I’m ok with that. I’m not ready for fall and all the pumpkin spice. πŸŽƒ

What else is going on?

Oh, I tried on a bikini. Saw it shoved to the back of the drawer the other day. I don’t know if I’ve ever worn it in public, but when I put it on, I liked it. On me. So there. Will pack it and wear it for beach day on the weekend.

I haven’t worn a bikini since….ugh. Before kids for sure. Do you think I’ll chicken out when the time comes or actually go through with it? 😳

This could be the new me: a bikini wearing hockey mom. πŸ˜‚

We have one more little trip planned before summer holidays are over, out into the country three hours east of home. They have many farms out there so we’ll do some shopping: fresh apples and produce, garlic and fresh eggs from a cooler at the end of a long driveway. Maybe even a few pumpkins if they have them ready. πŸ˜‰

And then, it’s back to the grind, isn’t it.

Happy Tuesday!

  1. Your planned trip into the country for garden fresh produce sounds lovely. We have great local farmers’ markets in our communities where all of this is available. But there’s nothing like driving directly to the source for the escape and experiences as much as the products.

    1. We have some decent farmers’ markets here in the city but it’s not the same as going to the farms and picking stuff they picked that morning. πŸ™‚ Plus there is nothing like a fresh apple straight from the tree. πŸ™‚

  2. We’re in a similar situation. My eldest son starts middle school on Monday and we’re in the process of getting everything together. I still can’t get to grips with the amount of stuff the school says he needs

He’s keen on going by bike, but we are getting him a bus pass as well… Just in case πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to take plenty of photos 😏

    1. I love your Swiss Sundays. I still have so much to report about my last part of my Switzerland trip but I’m finding it hard to get some uninterrupted time to put my thoughts and pictures together…maybe when they’re back to school. πŸ™‚

  3. Today is $5 movie day at the theater. Going to see the afternoon showing of ‘Angel has Fallen”. This can happen because I do not have to do all the stuff you do. Just thought I would throw that out there for your consumption.
